I Ate my way Through Taipei

One hundred percent, the best thing about Taipei for me was the absurd amount of bomb ass food that I ate! It was sooooooo good and so cheap! The most memorable experience was for sure the self-guided food tour I went on with friends I had made earlier in the day.

Prior to the culinary adventure, I went on this free walking tour with Hannah, my roommate from the hostel. Even though I thought the tour itself was kind of whatever, it was great for meeting other travelers; and we soon realized that there were quite a few people from our hostel. & I finally got my hands on a boba ice tea! Num nums

Once the tour ended, Gayeon and Dylan joined Hannah and I and off to Raohe Street Night Market we went. Having already visited quite a few night markets I knew this one was perfect for our culinary adventure.  A small, local market off the MRT Green Line Song Shan station that’s focus is… ALL THINGS FOOD!

Without much of a game plan, we just kind of started at one end of the street sharing an assortment of dishes to the other end. These are some of the eats we enjoyed along the way:

Stinky Tofu

Not sure how or why this would be our first-choice meal, but it was something I wanted to try so I went with it. Not bad! It definitely doesn’t taste as bad as it smells, promise.

Strawberry and Mango Shaved Ice

Desert next? Why not!  SOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOD!! The fresh chunks of fruit are everything.

Oyster omelet

Not my favorite, but I also don’t care for oysters. Everyone else really enjoyed this though.

Taiwanese Minced Pork Noodles

Solid! I love any kind of noodle soups, but this was especially tasty.

So, there was this burrito thing that we had too but unfortunately we ate it before I could get it a picture of it.

& lastly even though I was SO FULL, how could I say no to fried milk?! Yum!
